Strategic advisory grounded in decades of experience across Indigenous governance, federal systems, and international affairs.

Every engagement starts with the same question: what does this organization actually need to succeed, and what's standing in the way? The answers come from four areas of deep experience — often working together, sometimes standing alone.

Practice Area 1 — Indigenous Governance & Federal-Tribal Relations

Tribal nations and the organizations that work with them face a unique challenge: navigating sovereignty, federal trust obligations, and complex intergovernmental relationships simultaneously. I help tribes, federal agencies, and the organizations between them build governance structures and strategies that hold up under pressure.

What this looks like:

  • Strategic planning for tribal governments and enterprises

  • Federal-tribal relationship navigation and trust responsibility matters

  • Sovereignty and self-determination frameworks

  • Capacity building for tribal organizations and staff

  • Advisory support for federal agencies with tribal portfolios

Practice Area 2 — Strategic Communication & Public Affairs

An organization's story doesn't tell itself — and in Indian Country and federal Indian affairs, getting that story right requires understanding both the audience and the stakes. I've built national communication strategies for billion-dollar federal programs and led branding efforts that shifted public perception at scale.

What this looks like:

  • Communications strategy and messaging development

  • Media relations and public affairs campaigns

  • Stakeholder and community engagement strategy

  • Organizational branding and positioning

  • Crisis communication

Practice Area 3 — Organizational Strategy & Leadership

Organizations under pressure — financial, political, or operational — need leadership that's been there before. I've led turnarounds, built strategic plans that delivered real results, and served on boards across sectors.

What this looks like:

  • Executive advising and interim leadership support

  • Organizational turnaround strategy

  • Board governance and development

  • Strategic planning and execution

  • Institutional capacity building

Practice Area 4 — National Security & International Affairs

For select clients, I bring direct experience advising governments and military institutions on intelligence policy, security cooperation, and capacity building in some of the world's most complex environments.

What this looks like:

  • Intelligence policy and governance advisory

  • Security cooperation strategy

  • International capacity building programs

  • Senior advisory support for defense and federal clients

Available for select engagements.

Why This Combination Matters

Most consultants bring one of these areas. Few bring all four — and fewer still bring them from direct, lived experience rather than theory. I've sat on a tribal bench, run a federal agency office in Indian Country, built national communication strategy for a multi-billion-dollar trust fund, and advised governments on security policy in active conflict zones. That range is the value I bring to every engagement.

let’s talk

I take on a limited number of consulting relationships at any time. If you're working on something where my background might be useful, I'd enjoy a conversation.
